Internacional receives second FIFA transfer ban this month over unpaid debt to Olympiacos

Brazilian club Internacional has been hit with a second FIFA transfer ban within a single month, following failure to settle financial obligations related to player acquisitions. This latest sanction stems from an unpaid debt to Greek side Olympiacos regarding the transfer of left-back Ramon, which took place on January 31, 2025. The deal, valued at 1.5 million euros, remains unsettled despite the player having been under contract through the end of 2027. Notably, Ramon is currently not playing for Internacional, as he has been sent out on loan to Vitoria.

This marks the second time in September 2026 that the club has faced such penalties. A previous transfer ban was imposed earlier in the year regarding a separate case involving Juninho and the Danish club Midtjylland, which was reportedly addressed in February 2025. The recurring nature of these financial issues underscores mounting instability for the Brazilian side as they struggle to manage their international transfer debts. The organization must now resolve these outstanding payments to have the current ban lifted by FIFA.
