Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism announces 2026 Christmas villages

The Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism has officially announced the selection of nine locations that will host the annual 'Christmas Villages' initiative for the upcoming holiday season. The program is scheduled to run from November 21, 2026, through January 6, 2027, across all districts of Cyprus.

The designated villages for this year are Agros, Deryneia, Kakopetria, Kalopanagiotis, Kyperounta, Lefkara, Lofou, Statos-Agios Fotios, and Fikardou. These locations were selected following an evaluation of applications submitted under a grant scheme specifically for municipal and community councils situated along the 'Heartland of Legends' route. This initiative, which has been successful for the past five years, aims to promote local culture and tourism.

Visitors to these villages will find festive decorations, wooden stalls featuring local products and handicrafts, and interactive workshops focused on gastronomy and traditional crafts. Additionally, the program includes outdoor nature activities and guided tours, with local restaurants and accommodation providers offering specialized holiday menus to enhance the visitor experience.
