Transport Minister Evanthia Tsolaki visits Limassol Port terminals

On September 18, 2026, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Evanthia Tsolaki, conducted her first official visits to the major terminals at the Port of Limassol following her appointment in August. The visits were designed as introductory meetings with the operators of the port's facilities to discuss maritime trade, infrastructure, and future operational plans.

At the Eurogate Container Terminal Limassol, Tsolaki met with Chief Operating Officer Alexandros Demetriades and her ministry delegation, including the acting director of Public Works, Stelios Zervos. Discussions focused on current operational issues and ongoing infrastructure upgrades, specifically the expansion of the terminal yard and additional storage capacity. Tsolaki expressed a commitment to continued cooperation, with further meetings planned.

Subsequently, the Minister visited the DP World Limassol terminal. Accompanied by company executives and representatives from P&O Maritime, she reviewed the multi-purpose terminal's services, which cover cruise activities, general cargo, and Ro-Ro shipping. CEO Simon Pitout highlighted the port's vital role in tourism and connectivity. Tsolaki also observed maritime operations, including vessel handling services, reinforcing the government's focus on the efficient development of Cyprus’ maritime infrastructure.
