ELAM holds meeting with Adouloti Keryneia association on Cyprus issue

On September 17, 2026, the President of the National Popular Front (ELAM), Christos Christou, met with a delegation from the "Adouloti Keryneia" (Unsubjugated Kyrenia) association, led by Ioannis Siekersavvas, to discuss the current state of the Cyprus issue and the status of Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied territories.

The discussions focused on concerns regarding the content of the proposed solution for the Cyprus problem and the ongoing policy of Turkey in the region. A primary point of concern was the usurpation of Greek Cypriot properties located in the occupied areas, with both sides emphasizing the urgent need for a more substantive approach to addressing and highlighting these violations.

As a follow-up to the meeting, the participants explored the prospect of organizing an event at the European level. The stated goal is to provide European partners with more comprehensive information regarding the various dimensions of the Cyprus issue and the specific challenges faced by refugees from the occupied areas.
