Road maintenance and construction work updates in Cyprus
Starting September 21, 2026, a section of Tseriou Avenue in Strovolos will undergo temporary one-way traffic management until January 10, 2027. The affected area spans from the junction with Konstantinoupoleos Street to the junction with Charalampou Pettemeridi Street, with traffic flow directed towards the center of Strovolos. Local authorities have advised motorists to utilize alternative routes, including Pettemeridi, Kantaras, Patriarchi Grigoriou E, Elenis Chr. Loizidou, and Makedonias streets to mitigate expected traffic congestion.
Simultaneously, the Department of Forests is conducting irrigation works on the slopes of several motorways, including the Larnaca-Ayia Napa (Paralimni), Larnaca-Kofinou, and Larnaca-Nicosia routes. These operations, scheduled from July 27, 2026, through September 30, 2026, occur Monday through Thursday between 08:30 and 14:30. During this period, the road shoulder will be restricted in 300-meter segments, though officials state that general traffic flow will not be significantly impacted by these maintenance tasks.
