Developments surrounding the death of George Mazonakis

Following the death of singer George Mazonakis, a controversy has emerged regarding the events that occurred at a medical office in Kolonaki before his transfer to the Elpis hospital. Giorgos Mathiopoulos, president of EKAB workers and vice-president of POEDIN, defended the ambulance crew against allegations made by doctors Ilias Theodoropoulos and Ioanna Gaka. Mathiopoulos stated that the EKAB crew followed standard resuscitation protocols upon arrival, noting they were not fully informed about the medical procedures previously performed on the patient by the attending doctors.

Simultaneously, the administration of Elpis Hospital has issued an official statement categorically denying allegations circulating on social media regarding a telephone intervention to alter the recorded time of the singer's death. The hospital’s leadership, including the President and the Governor, clarified that no such communication or pressure occurred, emphasizing that the declaration of the time of death remains an exclusively medical responsibility.
