During the call, staff allegedly claimed to possess a "blood-cleansing machine," prompting the nurse to question if it was an unauthorized plasmapheresis device. In another testimony, M. Karakousis alleged that a few years ago, the same doctor diagnosed both him and his wife with non-existent illnesses. According to his account, his wife was told she had cancer, which led to the prescription of supplements and vitamins. Karakousis stated that he reported the incident to the Athens Medical Association (ISA) at the time, but was informed following an investigation that the clinic operated legally.
