Kyperounta to host 22nd annual apple festival
The mountain village of Kyperounta in the Troodos region will host its 22nd annual Apple Festival on October 10 and 11, 2026. The event, held in the village's central square, offers free admission to the public and features a variety of local products, music, and activities for all ages.
Kyperounta is recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture as the primary apple-producing region in Cyprus, benefiting from high altitude, cold winters, and mild summers that provide ideal cultivation conditions. According to 2023 data from the Ministry, Cyprus has approximately 450 hectares of apple orchards, generating an estimated annual production value of 2.2 million euros. The festival serves both as a celebration of the harvest and as a platform to highlight the importance of the fruit to the mountain economy.
