21st Cyprus International Film Festival to be held in Nicosia

The 21st Cyprus International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 21 to 25, 2026, at the Melina Merkouri Cultural Center in Nicosia. Admission to the event is free for the public, marking 21 years of the festival's continuous operation since its inception in 2006.

This year's program features 45 short and feature-length films, including global premieres from Cyprus, Spain, France, the United States, Hong Kong, Greece, and China. A key highlight is the introduction of a hybrid format, allowing viewers outside Nicosia to watch content online via the platform inspire-tv.com for the first time since the pandemic. Additionally, the festival will incorporate Virtual Reality (VR) technology, including a screening of the film "Lost Spaces" by Belinda Cherrington and Kalis Kouloufidou, produced in collaboration with the CYENS Centre of Excellence.

Organizers described the festival as a project driven by passion and resilience, maintaining its independent and multidisciplinary identity.
