Criminal network dismantled in Attica for series of burglaries

On the morning of Thursday, September 17, 2026, the Hellenic Police dismantled a criminal organization responsible for multiple burglaries and thefts across the Attica region. During a coordinated operation, authorities arrested three foreign nationals in the area. In addition to these arrests, investigators identified five other members of the network; two of these individuals are currently incarcerated in correctional facilities, while three are believed to be abroad.

The police investigation has officially solved 23 cases of theft and attempted burglary spanning neighborhoods including Agia Paraskevi, Palaio Faliro, Nea Ionia, Galatsi, Athens, Kallithea, Zografou, Petralona, and Pangrati. Authorities confirmed that approximately 76,000 euros were transferred abroad through remittance companies.

Modus operandi involved nightly surveillance of residential buildings to verify that apartments were vacant before breaking in. A case file has been filed against the suspects for crimes including formation of a criminal organization and serial aggravated theft. The investigation is ongoing as authorities process the evidence and pursue those currently residing outside the country.
