Minor arrested in connection with vehicle theft in Larnaca

A 43-year-old man reported the theft of his vehicle to the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. According to the police report, the vehicle was stolen on September 15 while it was parked at a car wash facility in Larnaca.

Following an investigation, authorities issued judicial arrest warrants for two suspects. On Saturday, September 19, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Larnaca Cycling Police Unit successfully identified and arrested one of the suspects, who is a minor. The apprehended individual was taken into police custody immediately following the arrest.

The minor is scheduled to appear before a court on Sunday for a remand hearing to determine the next steps in his detention. Meanwhile, the Larnaca CID continues its active investigation into the incident, as law enforcement agencies are still searching for the second suspect involved in the crime.
