Minor remanded and another suspect wanted for vehicle theft in Larnaca

A 43-year-old man reported the theft of his vehicle to the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The vehicle was stolen the previous day, Tuesday, September 15, while it was left at a car wash facility.

Following police investigations, judicial arrest warrants were issued for two suspects. On Saturday, September 19, members of the Larnaca Cycling Police Unit apprehended a minor in connection with the case. The minor appeared before the Larnaca District Court on Sunday, where he was remanded in custody for five days.

Authorities have officially identified the second suspect as 18-year-old Yahia Al Liddawi. He is wanted for questioning regarding multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, vehicle theft, malicious damage, driving without insurance, driving without a license, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The Larnaca CID is continuing the investigation and has urged the public to contact the police via the Citizen's Line or local stations if they have information regarding his whereabouts.
