Hit-and-run incident in Paralimni leaves one man in critical condition
Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Paralimni, Cyprus, early Sunday morning. The collision occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Vrysoudion Street as the vehicle was heading toward the Agia Triada roundabout. Following the impact, the driver fled the scene, failing to provide assistance or report the event to the authorities.
The victims, a 28-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, were transported by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital. The woman was treated for minor injuries and subsequently discharged. However, the 29-year-old man remains in critical condition as he continues to receive medical treatment.
The Famagusta Traffic Police have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances of the collision and to identify the fleeing driver. Law enforcement authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the vehicle or the suspect to contact the Famagusta Traffic Police at 23-803028, their local police station, or the Citizen Line at 1460. The investigation is ongoing as officials actively search for the individual responsible.
