Hit-and-run in Paralimni leaves man in critical condition

A hit-and-run incident occurred in the early hours of September 20, 2026, in Paralimni, Cyprus, resulting in serious injuries to two pedestrians. Around 4:00 a.m., a vehicle traveling on Vrysoudion Street toward the Agia Triada roundabout struck a 28-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man. The driver of the vehicle immediately fled the scene following the collision.

Both victims were transported by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital. The 28-year-old woman received medical attention and was discharged shortly thereafter. The 29-year-old man remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit, having sustained severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures, and is currently intubated.

The Famagusta Traffic Police are actively investigating the circumstances of the collision and searching for the unidentified driver.
