Cyprus national youth teams prepare for upcoming European championship qualifiers

Cyprus is preparing several national teams for upcoming European Championship qualification matches. The Men's U20 volleyball team travels to Austria for a tournament from September 23 to 27, aiming for a top-five finish under coach Loizos Loizou. Simultaneously, the Women's U20 volleyball team, led by coach Stelios Masias, will compete in Maribor, Slovenia, during the same dates. This marks a historic debut for the Women's U20 squad in the current tournament format.

In football, the U21 national team, under new head coach Marios Nikolaou, has begun preparations at the GSP Stadium for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers. The team faces Romania on September 25 at the AEK Arena, followed by away matches against Kosovo on September 30 and San Marino on October 6. Players are currently training in Cyprus, with the squad expected to finalize its tactical plan later this week ahead of the home game against the Romanians.
