Cyprus participates in the UN General Assembly high-level week

Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus, Constantinos Kombos, has arrived in New York to represent the country at the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly. During his stay, he is engaging in a series of diplomatic meetings aimed at promoting Cyprus's foreign policy priorities and strengthening international relations.

Key diplomatic engagements include meetings with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas. Additionally, Minister Kombos attended a working dinner focused on Middle Eastern affairs with the President and CEO of the International Institute of Peace, Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein. Throughout these discussions, the Minister emphasized the necessity of full compliance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

The ongoing sessions at the UN headquarters serve as a platform for Cyprus to address regional stability and maritime issues. The Minister's schedule for the coming days includes further contacts with various international delegations to foster cooperation on issues affecting the country's diplomatic interests.
