Apollon spokesperson comments on APOEL draw and team outlook

Apollon Limassol spokesperson Fanourios Konstantinou has described the recent draw against APOEL as a fair result, noting that both teams capitalized on opponent errors during an open and fast-paced match. While admitting that the team’s point tally could have been higher following a difficult series of games, Konstantinou emphasized that the three-point gap from the league leaders remains manageable.

Addressing the current international break, the club is focusing on player recovery and rest. Of the seven currently sidelined players, four are expected to return for the next match: Ljubic, Brown, Ozbolt, and Gaspar. Specifically, Konstantinou noted that Ozbolt had previously lost four kilograms due to health issues. The team has scheduled a six-day rest period followed by a friendly match against AEK.

Furthermore, Konstantinou expressed frustration regarding the state of refereeing in Cypriot football. He asserted that Apollon has been a long-term advocate for the use of foreign referees, arguing that the club’s historical title achievements have been unfairly limited over the past 15 years.
