Fanny Ardant to perform Cassandre at Limassol's Pattihio Theatre

French screen legend Fanny Ardant will perform the spoken opera "Cassandre" at the Pattihio Municipal Theatre in Limassol on October 2, 2026. This monodrama, composed by Swiss musician Michael Jarrell in 1994 and based on the 1983 novella by Christa Wolf, features Ardant as the Trojan seer. The performance will be conducted by Jean Deroyer and accompanied by eighteen musicians from the Commandaria Orchestra.

Presented as part of the Cyprus International Theatre Festival, the show marks the conclusion of the "SHE IS HERE" series, which highlights independent female voices. The production runs for 70 minutes without an interval, with the text delivered in French and accompanied by surtitles in Greek, Russian, and English. This performance serves as a rescheduled event, having been postponed from March 2026 due to regional instability. It is considered to be the first full staging of this specific work in Cyprus.
