Saint Mary Magdalene's relic to visit Aglantzia, Cyprus

The Church of Apostle Andrew in Platy Aglantzia, Cyprus, has announced the arrival of the holy relic of Saint Mary Magdalene's hand. The relic will be transported from the Simonopetra Monastery on Mount Athos for the first time, marking a significant religious event for the island.

The official reception is scheduled for Monday, September 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. on Kyrenia Avenue. Metropolitan Grigorios of Paphos will preside over the welcoming ceremony, accompanied by Father Gervasios and other representatives from the Athonite monastery. The relic will be accompanied by a piece of the Holy Wood.

Following the reception, a procession will lead the relic to the Church of Apostle Andrew, where it will remain for public veneration until Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. During this period, the church will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to allow the faithful to pay their respects.
