European nations increase security measures amid rising tensions with Russia

European nations are intensifying defense preparations following large-scale military exercises conducted by Belarus near the Suwalki Gap, a strategic 100-kilometer corridor connecting the Baltic states to the rest of NATO. While Minsk officially labeled these four-day drills as defensive, the proximity to the Polish and Lithuanian borders has heightened regional alarm regarding potential Russian hybrid operations.
