Cyprus Stock Exchange closes higher on Monday

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) concluded Monday's trading session with gains, as the General Index rose by 0.80% to close at 317.53 points. The FTSE/CySE 20 index followed a similar trend, ending the day at 186.58 points with an increase of 0.81%. The total value of transactions reached €384,787.16, involving 151 transactions, with 9 shares moving upwards, 6 downwards, and 2 remaining unchanged.

Investor interest focused primarily on the Bank of Cyprus, which saw the highest turnover at €217,655.21, closing at €10.71 with a 2.68% gain. Other notable performances included Logicom, which reached a closing price of €2.74 (+1.48%), and Demetra Holdings at €1.40 (+1.08%). Conversely, the Hotels sector faced a decline of 1.32%, and Vassiliko Cement Works closed at €6.10, representing a 0.81% decrease. These figures mark a significant improvement over the midday performance, when the General Index was trailing at a marginal 0.08% growth.
