Minister of transport visits Limassol port facilities

On September 18, 2026, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Evanthia Tsolaki, conducted her first introductory visits to the port of Limassol facilities following her appointment in August. She was accompanied by a delegation including the head of her office, Elena Theodoulou, and ministry representatives.

The minister visited both the DP World Limassol cruise terminal and the Eurogate container terminal. At DP World Limassol, she was briefed by representatives of the company and P&O Maritime regarding port operations, infrastructure, and the facility's strategic role as a cruise gateway for the Eastern Mediterranean. During this visit, she toured the harbor on a tugboat to observe maritime safety operations firsthand.

At the Eurogate Container Terminal, the minister met with Chief Operating Officer Alexandros Dimitriadis. Discussions focused on current operational matters and the company's recent investments in infrastructure upgrades. The visits served to familiarize the new minister with the essential commercial and maritime functions that support the Cypriot economy.
