Traffic updates and road maintenance work across Cyprus

Various road maintenance and traffic regulation projects are scheduled across Cyprus throughout late September 2026. The Department of Forestry is conducting irrigation work along the verges of the Larnaca-Paralimni, Larnaca-Kofinou, and Larnaca-Nicosia highways from July 27 through September 30, 2026. These works take place on Mondays through Thursdays, from 08:30 to 14:30, requiring the temporary closure of 300-meter sections of the shoulder without affecting main traffic flow.

In Lakatamia, Pedaiou Street will be closed to all traffic, except local residents, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 07:00 to 16:00 for private sewage system construction. Additionally, the Nicosia Municipality has announced traffic changes in the Agios Dometios district starting September 28, 2026. These include converting a section of Markou Drakou Street to two-way traffic, implementing one-way traffic on Persefonis Street, and installing new signage for road markings. Work in the Agios Dometios area will occur between 07:00 and 09:00 for signage installation, with the implementation of new parking restrictions and double yellow lines.

Authorities advise motorists to exercise caution and follow road signs in the affected areas. Current schedules remain subject to ongoing maintenance progress and localized municipal planning.
