Lidl Cyprus and AKTI expand Project Zero for 2026-2027

Lidl Cyprus has announced the continuation of its strategic partnership with the AKTI Project and Research Centre for the sixth consecutive year, marking the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. The "Project Zero" initiative, which aims to foster environmental awareness among students, will now expand its educational activities to include universities across Cyprus.

Since its inception in 2021, the program has successfully reached 62,355 children and facilitated the removal of 18.6 tonnes of waste from the country's coastlines. During the most recent period between March and July 2026, the initiative engaged 6,756 students in educational programs, with 1,467 participants actively taking part in cleaning operations. These actions resulted in the removal of an additional 2.6 tonnes of waste from Cyprus's shores and seabed.

The project remains committed to its mission of sustainable development and environmental protection. Moving forward, the organizers plan to implement a new cycle of educational initiatives throughout the upcoming academic year to build upon these results and continue engaging the younger generation in ecological conservation efforts.
