Timokypra music-theatre performance held at the War Museum in Athens

On Thursday, September 17, 2026, the music-theatre production 'Timokypra' was performed at the War Museum in Athens. The event, organized by the cultural association Romiosyni of Cyprus, offered an immersive journey through the history and culture of Cyprus from its origins to the modern era. The performance featured fifty cast members on stage, utilizing a combination of narration, live music, songs, dance, and visual projections to depict the island's historical path.

The production was curated and directed by Mr. Kyprianou and took place with the institutional support of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides. The event was coordinated by the president of PEKA, Marianthi Hatzikonstantinou, and was attended by Greek state officials, Cypriot expatriates, and military academy students. At the conclusion of the evening, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cyprus awarded a commemorative plaque to the Romiosyni association in recognition of its long-standing cultural contributions.

Previously, 'Timokypra' had been presented in Thessaloniki and various cities in Cyprus, receiving positive critical acclaim. The Athens performance marked the latest successful stop in the production's tour, highlighting its significance in promoting Cypriot heritage to a wider audience.
