Mountaineer Asimina Iglezou undergoes finger amputation following Himalayas expedition

Greek athlete and mountaineer Asimina Iglezou has undergone surgery to amputate four of her fingers after suffering severe frostbite during a recent climbing expedition in the Himalayas. The medical procedure was performed at the KAT hospital following complications caused by extreme weather conditions.

The injury occurred during the athlete's descent from the summit of Mount Makalu, located on the border between Nepal and Tibet near Mount Everest. The incident marks a severe physical setback for the former Survivor contestant, who is currently in the recovery phase following the operation.
