AEZ Zakakiou withdraws from Cyprus football leagues

AEZ Zakakiou has officially announced its withdrawal from the 2026-2027 Third Division and the K-19 Third Division youth championships. The club notified the Cyprus Football Association (KOP) of its decision to suspend operations, citing an inability to participate in the upcoming matches for the current season.

Following this development, and in accordance with the championship regulations, all remaining matches involving AEZ Zakakiou will be awarded to their opponents as 3-0 victories. The club, based in Limassol, has seen significant movement across divisions in recent years; they competed in the First Division during the 2023-2024 season and spent the last two years in the Second Division before this permanent removal from the association's registries.

The Cyprus Football Association is expected to issue a formal update regarding the administrative procedures following the club's departure. This decision marks the end of the team's participation in national league competition for the foreseeable future.
