Frixos Vryonidis and Alexandros Apostolides announce Volt Cyprus leadership bids

Frixos Vryonidis and Alexandros Apostolides have announced their candidacies for leadership positions within the Volt Cyprus party ahead of the internal elections scheduled for October 10, 2026. Vryonidis is running for the position of co-president, while Apostolides has declared his candidacy for the role of vice president. Both candidates aim to build upon the party's previous electoral performance and address current socio-political challenges.

Vryonidis emphasized the need to combat political apathy and the sense of resignation among voters, arguing that active participation is essential for meaningful change. He credited his experience within Volt for providing him with a platform to advocate for collective political action. Meanwhile, Apostolides, who framed his candidacy around the 11,488 votes the party received in May 2026, outlined a platform focused on promoting Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot cooperation, reducing border crossing delays, addressing the cost of living, and fostering economic equality.
