Limassol municipality announces new infrastructure and urban renovation projects

The Municipality of Limassol has launched two major development initiatives in September 2026. The first project focuses on the comprehensive modernization of a local sports facility, aiming to replace existing structures with a new field featuring synthetic turf. The redesigned facility will include modern locker rooms, medical and auxiliary spaces, and new spectator stands with a capacity of 500 to 600 people. Provisions for accessibility and facility safety upgrades, including improved lighting and fencing, are also included in the plan.

Simultaneously, the municipality has invited tenders (Competition no. 72/2026) for the second phase of an urban renewal program. This project covers the revitalization of 27 public parks across Limassol, categorized into three distinct units of nine parks each. The estimated value for these consultancy services is €450,000, excluding VAT. To ensure fair competition, the tender mandates that a single economic operator can be awarded a contract for only one unit. The design objectives for these parks emphasize sustainability, climate change resilience, and public accessibility, reflecting the city's broader efforts to improve urban living environments.
