Limassol wine festival 2026 kicks off on September 26

The 64th annual Limassol Wine Festival is scheduled to take place from September 26 to October 4, 2026, at the Limassol Municipal Garden. The event, which highlights Cyprus's viticultural heritage, features 14 concerts, traditional music performances, and exhibitions. Opening ceremonies will be held on September 26 at 8:00 PM under the iconic Vrakas statue, attended by the Minister of Communications, Evi Tsolaki, and Mayor Yiannis Armeftis. The festival serves as a cultural celebration, incorporating the end of the harvest season and regional traditions like the production of Commandaria, palouze, and soutzoukos.

To manage the expected thousands of visitors, the Municipality of Limassol has implemented specific traffic and logistical measures. Lordou Vyronos Street will be converted into a one-way street, and Olympiou Street will be closed from September 26 to October 4, between 18:00 and 24:00. Attendees are encouraged to utilize designated parking areas, including Enaerios, Emathoudis, and the District Court grounds. Additionally, the municipality has organized shuttle bus services from Nicosia, Larnaca, Paphos, and Ayia Napa on specific dates during the festival. Security and emergency access routes have been coordinated with local police and fire services to ensure public safety throughout the nine-day duration.
