The Municipality of Polis Chrysochous issued an official appeal on September 23, 2026, requesting that residents and visitors refrain from harming, handling, or attempting to relocate snakes and other reptiles found in residential areas, roads, or private yards. This initiative aims to preserve local biodiversity and maintain the ecological balance of the region.

Authorities emphasize that the Reptile and Amphibian Park located in Neo Chorio is the primary body responsible for the safe management of these animals. If a reptile is found in a location where it may be at risk or cause public concern, citizens are advised to avoid any direct contact and instead contact the facility's managers.
