Tensions arise in the Denia buffer zone as farmers stand their ground

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, tensions escalated in the United Nations-controlled buffer zone near the village of Denia, Cyprus. Two Greek Cypriot farmers, who had entered the area to cultivate their land, were confronted by two individuals associated with the Turkish occupation forces who arrived in a white double-cab vehicle.
