Trump’s Board of Peace unveils $2.45 billion recovery plan for Gaza

On September 23, 2026, President Donald Trump's Board of Peace is set to present a comprehensive six-month, $2.45 billion recovery plan for the Gaza Strip. The initiative, developed over a year in coordination with the Palestinian technocratic government, outlines 66 specific projects across six categories, including infrastructure, human development, economic acceleration, digital transformation, legal affairs, and security.

The proposed budget allocates approximately $1 billion for infrastructure, notably $400 million for temporary shelters, $275 million for debris and ordnance removal, $50 million for hospital rehabilitation, and $30 million for road repairs. Further objectives include installing 25,000 solar-power kits, restoring utilities, and neutralizing tunnels beneath key sites. The plan also proposes the deployment of a multinational security force.

Implementation remains contingent on the cooperation of both Israel and Hamas. While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has agreed to certain aspects in principle, implementation is currently stalled due to domestic political considerations ahead of the October elections. Although Hamas has reportedly accepted the framework in principle, the success of the roadmap depends on overcoming these complex political hurdles in both jurisdictions.
