Presidential palace launches new public visitor program

The Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus has announced a new initiative titled "Presidential Palace Open to Citizens," allowing the public to access the building for guided tours. Starting as a pilot program on October 3, 2026, to coincide with Independence Day, the project aims to foster a closer connection between the institution and the public while promoting national heritage.

The initiative was spearheaded by First Lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides and focuses on the exhibition "Cyprus: the World, the Place, the Word, the Matter." This collection includes artworks by prominent first-generation Cypriot artists such as Adamantios Diamantis, Paul Georgiou, Telemachos Kanthou, and Michael Kassialos, as well as contemporary pieces. The items on display are sourced from the Presidential Palace, the State Collection, the Leventis Gallery, and private family collections. Additionally, the exhibition features rare archaeological artifacts, including sculptures and figurines provided by the Department of Antiquities, spanning from the fourth millennium BC to the first century BC.
