Weather update: Cyprus to experience wind and potential rain

A weak low-pressure system is currently influencing weather conditions across Cyprus, leading to a shift from mostly clear skies to increased cloud cover. While initial temperatures reach approximately 30°C to 31°C inland and along the coasts, and around 23°C in the higher mountains, meteorologists are monitoring a trend of strengthening winds. These winds are expected to reach moderate to strong levels of 4 to 5 Beaufort, with local gusts hitting 6 Beaufort in certain areas, particularly along the southern and western coastlines.

Looking ahead, the weather pattern is expected to shift more noticeably starting Sunday night. A disturbance approaching from the west will likely bring partly cloudy skies, with increased chances for isolated rain and thunderstorms across the island, particularly in mountainous regions and the northern half. While the current weekend remains relatively mild, authorities and meteorologists advise the public to stay updated as the instability progresses into Monday.
