CFA disciplinary committee imposes sanctions on Cyprus league teams

The Cyprus Football Association's (CFA) judicial committee issued several disciplinary rulings on September 23, 2026, regarding incidents during the third matchday of the 2026-2027 season. Anorthosis Famagusta received the most significant penalty following their match against APOEL Nicosia on September 12. Due to fans detonating flares, throwing dangerous objects onto the pitch, and causing a three-minute delay to the game's start, Anorthosis must play one home match behind closed doors and is prohibited from transporting fans to their next away fixture.

Other rulings included a fine for Omonia Nicosia coach Henning Stille Berg, who was sent off for improper behavior and confronting the referee during the match against Apollon Limassol. Additionally, AEL Limassol was fined for receiving five yellow cards and having supporters throw objects onto the pitch during their game against Nea Salamina. These decisions reflect the committee's ongoing efforts to address crowd misconduct and disciplinary breaches within the Cyprus League by Stoiximan.
