Ministry of education staff participate in European week of sport exercise

On September 24, 2026, the staff of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth (YPAN) in Cyprus participated in a collective exercise session as part of the annual European Week of Sport campaign, known as #BeActive.

The event was held at the Ministry and led by Minister of Education, Sport and Youth Athena Michaelidou, alongside Deputy Director of Secondary General Education Giorgos Koutsidis and #BeActive Ambassador Kalli Chatziiosif. Personnel including senior education officers, inspectors, and department staff performed physical exercises under the guidance of Physical Education Inspector Angelos Angelidis and instructor Christiana Charalambous. The initiative serves to encourage physical activity within the workplace as part of the broader European Union campaign aimed at promoting active lifestyles.
