Aradippou implements AI-based fire detection system

The Municipality of Aradippou has signed a contract with Neuranet Solutions Ltd to deploy the PyroGuard AI system, an advanced artificial intelligence solution designed for early fire detection and automated alert notification. The agreement, signed by Mayor Christodoulos Partou and Neuranet Solutions CEO William Demetriou, involves the installation of seven monitoring stations and a dedicated radio repeater. The infrastructure will cover critical areas, including the municipal boundaries, local industrial zones, the Waste Management Unit, the town hall, and the Free Trade Zone.

This initiative follows two significant industrial fires that occurred earlier this year, which prompted municipal authorities to upgrade fire protection protocols. In June, a large fire at a frozen food factory necessitated a major emergency response, followed by another blaze at an industrial bakery in August that resulted in extensive structural damage. These incidents highlighted the vulnerability of the industrial sector, leading the municipality to prioritize technological intervention to improve safety and resilience. The deployment of the AI-driven network aims to mitigate such risks by ensuring rapid response times to future fire threats.
