Omonia and Olympiacos schedule friendly match during international break

Omonia and Olympiacos have scheduled a friendly match to take place on Friday, October 2, at the Elias Poullos training facility. The game will be held behind closed doors to serve as a training exercise for both teams during the national championship break caused by international team obligations.

For Omonia, the break presents a challenge as 12 first-team players are currently away representing their national teams, including Neophytou, Christou, Kakoullis, Andreou, Fabiano, Michael, Evangelou, Constantinides, Douverne, Tanase, Satka, and Balkovec. Coach Henning Berg aims to use the friendly to maintain the fitness levels of the remaining squad members and provide match time to those who need it. Meanwhile, Olympiacos expects the return of players Zanos Savva and Prokop, although striker Rauno Sappinen is projected to remain sidelined for at least another week. Olympiacos is also in preliminary discussions for a second friendly against Digenis and is preparing to celebrate the club's 95th anniversary on October 29 at an event at the Hilton with the President of the Republic in attendance.
