Nicosia municipality announces redevelopment of Ledra and Onasagorou streets

The Nicosia Municipality has confirmed a €10.8 million funding package for the urban redevelopment of Ledra and Onasagorou streets. This project is part of the Green Line Revitalization Program and is designed based on the New European Bauhaus principles.

The project consists of three distinct phases: the ongoing restoration of facades (Phase A), the upcoming facade restoration scheduled for October 2026 (Phase B), and the comprehensive street redevelopment (Phase C), which is currently under study. In response to concerns raised by the local Representative Committee of Shopkeepers and Residents, the municipality has engaged in at least four formal meetings to address the potential impacts on businesses and residents. The city aims to incorporate feedback from these stakeholders to mitigate disruption during the construction phases.
