Construction contract signed for new TEPAK school in Larnaca

On September 24, 2026, the Municipality of Larnaca signed a construction agreement with Cyfield Construction Ltd for the new building of the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) School of Marine Sciences, Technology, and Sustainable Development. The project, located in the Mackenzie area near the old Larnaca airport, has a budget of 10,934,000 euros.

Construction works are scheduled to begin immediately, following the site preparation which starts this Saturday. The project duration is 22 months, with an anticipated delivery date in August 2028. A formal groundbreaking ceremony, led by President Nikos Christodoulides, is scheduled for October 30, 2026. Both the Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, and the Rector of TEPAK, Panagiotis Zaphiris, have emphasized the importance of adhering to the strict project timeline to ensure that students can begin their studies at the new faculty by the autumn of 2028.

This development aims to strengthen the academic and research presence of Larnaca by establishing modern facilities comprising two departments: Marine Sciences and Technology, and Sustainable Development. The construction is being supported by the consulting and engineering firm DMA Architects & Engineers.
