Cyprus industrial goods sales reach 4.77 billion euros in 2024

In 2024, sales of locally produced industrial goods in Cyprus reached 4.77 billion euros, marking a 3.7 percent increase compared to the 4.60 billion euros recorded in 2023. According to the Statistical Service (Cystat), while the sector continues to grow, the pace has decelerated from the 7.3 percent increase observed in 2023.

Key contributors to this growth include halloumi, which saw sales of 46,100 tonnes valued at 364.1 million euros, representing a 7.7 percent increase in value. Other significant categories included fresh bakery and pastry products at 373.8 million euros and pharmaceutical preparations at 363.3 million euros. The data also highlighted strong performance in the beverage sector, with 43.1 million liters of beer sold for 57 million euros, 10.4 million liters of wine valued at 35.7 million euros, and 216.9 million liters of bottled water worth 46.7 million euros.

This performance reflects the ongoing importance of food and pharmaceutical exports to the Cypriot economy. The latest figures confirm that despite the slowdown in the growth rate, the industrial sector remains a cornerstone of the nation’s overseas trade and domestic production activity.
