University of Nicosia announces fall 2026 blockchain course

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) has officially announced the launch of its Fall 2026 edition of the flagship Free MOOC on Blockchain and Digital Assets, scheduled to begin on September 28, 2026. This course, recognized as the first university-led initiative of its kind globally, has attracted over 150,000 students from more than 120 countries since its inception in 2014.

The curriculum is divided into two distinct tracks: an eight-week Introductory Track offered free of charge, and a four-week Advanced Track priced at €199. The advanced segment includes specialized benefits such as hardware wallet rewards, scholarships for UNIC’s Master of Science in Blockchain and Digital Currency, and various sponsorship opportunities. Instruction is provided by university faculty members George Giaglis, Apostolos Kourtis, and Lambis Dionysopoulos, supported by industry experts including Garrick Hileman, Jeff Bandman, and Punk6529.

Building on previous editions, the upcoming program incorporates guest sessions featuring representatives from Ripple, Cardano, Trezor, and Avalanche. Confirmed industry speakers include John Greene from the Cardano Foundation and Patrick Tobler. Participants are encouraged to register through the official university portal to access the course materials.
