40-year-old man arrested for multiple burglaries at a Limassol jewelry store

A 40-year-old man was arrested on the night of September 24 in Limassol after being discovered hiding in the engine room of a jewelry store on Ellados Street. Police arrived at the scene shortly before 11:30 p.m. following reports of a break-in, and successfully apprehended the suspect despite his physical resistance. During the arrest, officers recovered a bag containing burglary tools, such as metal cutters and screwdrivers, alongside gold and silver items.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect had previously targeted the same jewelry store, which has been closed for six years, between September 17 and 18. The owner of the shop identified some of the recovered items as stolen during the initial break-in. This incident marks the second time the suspect has been caught attempting to rob the same premises within ten days. The suspect, who is known to local law enforcement, was brought before the Limassol District Court, which ordered his detention for seven to eight days while investigations into the burglaries and the origin of the recovered jewelry continue.
