Unveiling of the sculpture “Cyprus’s journey through the ages” in Protaras

On 19 September 2026, a sculpture titled 'Cyprus’s journey through the ages' by artist Philippos Yiapanis was unveiled on the Protaras coastal promenade. The artwork, donated by the family of Chrysostomos and Katerina Papavassiliou, serves as a landmark overlooking occupied Famagusta to honor historical memory and cultural heritage. Supported by the Paralimni–Deryneia municipality, the piece symbolizes the enduring connection between Cyprus and Greece while expressing hope for the country's peaceful reunification.
