MEP Michalis Hatzipantela holds high-level meetings with European institutions
Between September 21 and 23, 2026, Member of the European Parliament Michalis Hatzipantela (DISY/EPP) conducted a series of official meetings in Frankfurt and Luxembourg. As part of a delegation from the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON), he met with representatives from the European Central Bank (ECB), the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), and the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA). Additional consultations were held with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Stability Mechanism (ESM).
The discussions primarily focused on the current state of the European economy, financial stability, investment strategies, and economic security. Key topics included methods for curbing inflation and reducing energy costs across the region. A significant portion of the dialogue, particularly during sessions with the ECB and the EIB, centered on the strategic importance of the electrical interconnection project between Cyprus and Greece. This project remains a focal point for regional energy policy, with European institutions acknowledging its significance as a measure to stabilize energy infrastructure and costs for the affected nations.
