President Christodoulides addresses the 81st UN General Assembly

During the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides called for renewed political will to resume negotiations for a Bizonal, Bicommunal Federation. Emphasizing the need to build upon progress achieved at Crans-Montana, the President urged all parties to engage in substantive talks to reunify the island and secure a prosperous future for all citizens, including Maronites, Armenians, and Latins.

Christodoulides highlighted that the ongoing division remains an existential reality, noting that over one-third of the Republic of Cyprus continues to be under Turkish military occupation.
