Airfare and package holiday prices in Cyprus rise in August 2026

In August 2026, airfare prices in Cyprus experienced a 5% year-on-year increase, while organized holiday packages saw a 3.7% rise compared to August 2025. This trend contrasts with the broader European Union average, where air transport costs declined by 0.4% and organized travel increased by 3.2%, aligning with the general inflation rate.

Data published by Eurostat highlights significant regional disparities across the EU. Greece recorded the highest annual surge in airfares at 16.3%, followed by Ireland at 14.4%. Conversely, ten member states reported price decreases, led by Slovakia with a sharp drop of 61.2%. For organized holidays, Belgium saw the largest increase at 16.2%, while Estonia experienced the most significant reduction at 21.1%.
