Cyprus implements anti-bribery standards for Turkish Cypriot property management

The Cypriot Ministry of Interior has officially implemented the ISO 37001 international standard, which focuses on anti-bribery and anti-corruption management systems, within the Service for the Management of Turkish Cypriot Properties. This initiative marks a significant development in the government's ongoing effort to modernize and rationalize the oversight of these assets, prioritizing transparency, objectivity, and accountability.

This policy shift builds upon a broader reform process that commenced in July 2025. Under the new legislative framework established at that time, authorities introduced measurable and objective criteria for the distribution and management of properties. A key objective of these reforms is to curtail the discretionary power previously held by officials, thereby mitigating potential risks of corruption and ensuring that property management adheres to strict integrity standards.
