Giorgos Viktoros joins Omonia on loan from Nea Salamina
Omonia has officially signed 21-year-old defender Giorgos Viktoros from Nea Salamina on a one-season loan deal. The agreement, announced on September 26, 2026, includes an option for Omonia to purchase the player permanently next summer. The move was initiated to bolster Omonia's defensive depth following the departure of Nikolas Panagiotou to Utrecht. Viktoros, a Cyprus U21 international, has recorded 49 appearances for Nea Salamina and is expected to compete for a spot in the defensive rotation managed by Henning Berg.
Viktoros expressed high enthusiasm about the transfer, stating it marks a significant new chapter in his career at what he considers the biggest club in Cyprus. Nea Salamina’s management, represented by Loizos Mouseos, confirmed that the deal brings a significant financial benefit to the club and includes a resale percentage clause. While Nea Salamina does not intend to make further signings following his exit, Omonia continues its preparation during the international break, aiming to maintain its strong defensive start to the season before facing Karmiotissa on October 9.
